| Getting to Work Commuting to school Basically, how you get to work is your choice. Usually there are several ways to get to school, however you will be asked to choose way route/method and confirm it with your school. When you start working at your school, youfll be asked to mark out your route and list your mode of transport (bus, train, bicycle, etc.) This information is needed for insurance purposes and so that your salary can be adjusted to cover the cost of your daily commute. Please ask your supervisor to explain the different ways of commuting to your school. Getting to monthly meetings and seminars The Board of Education will pay for your transport to and from official meetings and seminars, elementary school visits, etc. ALTs will receive either a Skip Card (for use on buses and subways) or an Orange Card (for use on JR Train Lines) depending on how you travel from your place of work to these meetings or seminars. You must not use these cards for your daily commute, only for business trips. |
