| Sports/Hobbies A wide range of sporting equipment and clothing (soccer, basketball, baseball, tennisc) is available in several stores in Sendai, so itfs not really necessary to bring stuff with you. However, if you have a gnational sporth that isnft popular in Japan, such as cricket, hockey or rugby, you might want to bring things to show in class. If you are above average size (see the Clothing page), you might want to bring sports shoes, snowboard boots, or even your own snowboard. It may be possible to order large-size boots or boards, but itfs likely to be expensive, and the range will be limited. Sendai has a number of private gyms and public leisure facilities, including outdoor pitches, etc., so you shouldnft have any problems accessing sports facilities. For hobbies, again, there are a lot of stores selling hobby goods, but it depends what your hobby is really! Feel free to contact the ALT Advisor with questions about your hobby. |
