| Study Visas If you plan to study full-time in Japan (i.e. at least 20 hours per week), you will need to change your status of residence and the immigration office will require some kind of certification from the school where you will be studying. Usually the school must be recognized by the government, and will sponsor you. For further information, please contact the immigration office and the school you plan on attending. Please be aware that you will not receive flight money home if you remain in Japan for more than one month after completing your ALT contract.
