| Shidoka and other Support Resources
Shidoka The advisors are happy to help you adjust to life in Japan. Please call us at Shidoka if youfd like someone to talk to or need help with something. Even if youfve just had a bad day and feel like having a rant, wefre at the other end of the phone and ready to listen. The advisors have attended Prefectural Advisor conferences and have received training in basic counseling. Wefve both been ALTs before, and can definitely relate to what you might be going through. We can also help you out with information on daily life, or advice on workplace relations. If you have a question that we canft answer straight away, wefll do our best to find the information and get back to you. You can contact us by email or phone CIRs CIRs (Coordinator for International Relations) are both trained Pas as well, and theyfre more than happy to help out ALTs. They alternate working at City Hall and Sendai International Centre. They are fluent in Japanese, and a great source of information on daily life in Sendai. All volunteers receive basic training in counseling and listening skills. They are available to listen and provide information every night from 8pm-7am. Call them on (0120) 437-725. CLAIR JET Line The CLAIR JET Line is staffed by Program Coordinators from CLAIR. They are all former JETs who can relate to your situation. They can provide information on JET-related matters, answer general enquiries, or simply offer a listening ear.
